Cambridge Lower Secondary Admission: A Complete Guide for Parents

The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme offered by top international schools, provides a well-structured learning journey for students aged 11 to 14. This curriculum serves as a crucial bridge between primary and secondary education, ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining continuity in learning. With clearly defined objectives across all subjects, the curriculum fosters proficiency and competence, offering a broad yet adaptable framework.

The programme encourages exploration and strengthens core academic foundations by exposing students to diverse subjects. It also provides flexibility in subject combinations, particularly in Mathematics and Science, allowing students to curate their studies as per their interests and future aspirations. Supported by dedicated educators and integrative assessments, the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum delivers a world-class educational experience enriched with global perspectives, setting the stage for success in the IGCSE examinations and beyond.

If you plan to admit your child to this program, then Thakur School of Global Education is an institution you should seek. Located in Kandivali West, this global school has successfully integrated the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme and the International General Certificate of Secondary Examination. As parents, if you are considering TSGE as your option, then here’s your guide to seeking International school admission

Admission Form

The application process of Cambridge Lower Secondary starts with obtaining the admission form and requisite documentation directly from the School Office. This centralised point ensures that you receive accurate and up-to-date materials. The form is designed to capture essential information about the student and their background, laying the foundation for a comprehensive evaluation. This initial step is crucial for establishing a formal record and initiating the admission procedure.

Form Submission

Once the application form is duly filled, it must be submitted to the School Office before the stipulated deadline. A recent passport-size photograph of the child should be affixed to the form, and the submission must include all necessary supporting documents.

Essential Documents

Applicants must provide one certified true copy of the child's school reports for the last three years, wherever applicable. Additionally, a certified true copy of the child's birth certificate is required, clearly mentioning the child’s name. If the birth certificate is in Hindi or any regional language, an English translation on Rs.100/- stamp paper, duly notarised, must be submitted along with the original birth certificate for verification. Parents must also submit copies of the Aadhaar card for both the child and themselves.

Registration Fees

The registration fee is an integral part of the application process. A non-refundable registration fee must be paid in cash or via demand draft in favour of "Thakur School of Global Education" or "Zagdu Singh Charitable Trust," as applicable, payable in Mumbai.

Transfer Certificate

Applicants must submit a Transfer Certificate issued from the child’s previous school. In case of outstation students, the Transfer Certificate must be countersigned by the respective Education Officer. For children belonging to Indian nationality but coming from abroad, the Transfer Certificate must be attested by the Indian Embassy or High Commission, with the child’s date of birth clearly stated.

In addition to the above, two stamp-size photographs of the child and both parents must be submitted with the other documents. After you receive the school uniform, two additional stamp-size photographs of the child in the school uniform against a red background must also be submitted to the school office.

Registration forms for new admissions of Cambridge Lower Secondary are available in September and October each year, subject to seat availability. All admissions will remain provisional until the required documents have been successfully submitted.

Here’s all you need to know before taking the first step to admission to TSGE. The admission process varies from school to school, which you can check out on the school website or school office.
